چکیده

Abstract Study design A retrospective study. Background To determine whether radiological parameters such as maximal lumbar lordosis-maximal thoracic kyphosis (maxLL-maxTK), sacral slope-pelvic tilt(SS-PT) and slope/pelvic tilt (SS/PT) could be used indicators for the diagnosis of degenerative disc disease (DDD) in compensatory sagittal balanced patients. Methods Medical records DDD patients asymptomatic adults within our hospital registry from July 2019 to November were reviewed. General characteristics evaluated between two groups. Analysis covariance with age a covariate was conducted, followed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis areas under curve (AUC) calculation. The max Youden index calculated identify optimal sensitivity specificity pairs. Results total 42 199 included. For those that showed significant differences groups, AUC SS/PT SS-PT largest, reaching 0.919 0.936, respectively. 0.749, 0.952 0.701 when = 1.635 threshold. found threshold =8.500, which increased 0.854, while decreased 0.857. Conclusions Both significantly different adults. < 1.6 8.5 balance.

Analysis of Cervical Sagittal Balance Parameters in MRIs of Patients with Disc-Degenerative Disease

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to explore the correlations between the different parameters of the cervical sagittal balance in magnetic resonance images (MRI) and evaluate the criteria for their clinical application in disc-degenerative diseases. MATERIAL AND METHODS We conducted a retrospective review of the MRIs of 125 adult outpatients with disc-degenerative diseases of the cervical...

Catabolic cytokine expressions in patients with degenerative disc disease.

AIM Lumbar degenerative disc disease (DDD) is a common disease of advanced age characterized by progressive changes in the intervertebral disc and associated structures. There have been great efforts for years to explain its pathophysiological mechanism(s). This study aims to provide cytokine profile and in addition to the lymphocytes in a population of patients with lumbar DDD. MATERIAL AND ...

Objective Functional Testing in Patients With Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease

Dear Editor: We were delighted to read the results of the prospective study by Mobbs et al on “Physical Activity Measured With Accelerometer and Self-Rated Disability in Lumbar Spine Surgery” in a recent issue of the Global Spine Journal. Using a commercially available accelerometer and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), such as the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Score (...

Effect of cage geometry on sagittal alignment after posterior lumbar interbody fusion for degenerative disc disease.

PURPOSE To compare the sagittal alignment of the lumbar spine after one-segment posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) using the horizontal cylinder (HC) or open box (OB) type cage. METHODS 66 patients underwent instrumented one-segment PLIF with bone grafting for lower lumbar degenerative disease. HC-type cages were used in 33 men and 13 women aged 20 to 73 (mean, 47) years between Septemb...
